Five Public Sweden Perspectives: The Role of Forests for Society – Beyond Wood and Carbon

Forests are widely expected to deliver multiple benefits for society. Aside from valuable wood products and carbon storage, other contributions of forests and their ecosystem services are increasingly recognized. This leads to complex demands on how we value, manage and care for forests and their role for a sustainable society.

In this seminar, you will meet representatives from five Swedish government agencies with different responsibilities connected to forests and forest ecosystems.

The panel will discuss questions like:

  • What is your agency’s most important task connected to forests and society?
  • What is your agency’s biggest challenge connected to your prioritized forest tasks?
  • What challenges does your agency anticipate ahead (towards 2050) concerning forests and society – from your role and perspective?

Ask questions to the panel

During the seminar, both digital and on site participants have the opportunity to ask questions to the panel.

The seminar is both an event for delegates to the IUFRO World Congress at the Stockholm Exhibition and Congress Centre (Stockholmsmässan) - as well as a digital event open to anyone.
