Time to apply for funding in the annual open call

2020-03-02

Our biggest call, which allows you as the researcher to identify your own research question, is now open once again. New for this year is increased funding for early-career researchers through an extension of the project duration, from three to four years.

Increased funding for early-career researchers

We are now providing increased funding, a long-awaited change, to early-career researchers. We are doing this by expanding the project duration from three to four years and the total budget from 3 to 4 million SEK.

“The extended project duration allows for full funding for a doctoral student, for example. We see the opportunity to hire and supervise a doctoral student in the project as an important part of the development of researchers early in their careers,” says Alexandra Jeremiasson, Senior Research Officer at Formas.

We look forward to receiving your application

In the annual open call, we welcome applications within our three areas of responsibility: environment, agricultural sciences and spatial planning. The purpose of the call is to enable you to tackle the research needs that you yourself have identified. Your application can relate to the social sciences, humanities, natural sciences or technology and take a cross-disciplinary approach or cross the border between research and society.
