Given decisions on digitization of the built environment

Formas has decided to fund ten projects within the strategic innovation programme Smart Built Environment.

6,3 million SEK will go to projects within e.g. machine learning, genetic algorithms and artificial intelligence to support construction processes.

The strategic innovation programme Smart Built Environment External link. is a plan that outlines how the built environment sector can contribute to Sweden’s journey to the global forefront of the new opportunities of digitalization, so that we can achieve intelligent, sustainable cities, manage our resources more efficiently and reduce carbon emissions. It is one of seventeen strategic innovation programmes based on strategic innovation areas, and funded by Swedish Research Council Formas, Swedish Energy Agency External link. and Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova External link.. Strategic innovation areas are funding initiatives where leading actors from commerce, academia and the public sector identify and define areas where they see a need to focus Swedish competence and joint efforts to create sustainable solutions to global challenges.
