05. Gender equality
Greater knowledge is required about how the green transition is likely to affect working life. Formas, together with Forte, Sweden’s research council for health, working life and welfare, now aims to strengthen research in this field.
Society has begun a green transition in order to meet the challenges of climate change. The green transition will have an impact on our future labour market and working lives.
The call is a joint initiative between Forte and Formas intended to strengthen research into the implications of the green transition for working life. Possible areas of research in this field include:
- how the green transition is likely to affect working life in terms of socioeconomic factors and gender equality;
- how the green transition is likely to affect working life and the labour market in different industries and in different regions, such as rural and urban areas;
- how skills development, education and skills provision can be organised;
- which industries and professions will change or disappear; and
- how changes to the labour market and people’s working lives as a result of the green transition will affect society as a whole.
A total of SEK 60 million is being allocated for project grants over two or three years.
This budget is subject to the Riksdag deciding to allocate funds to Forte and Formas in accordance with the proposals contained in the Government’s Research and Innovation Bill.
