NKJ - Nordic Joint Committee for Agricultural Research
Applications for NKJ grants
The Nordic Joint Committee for Agricultural Research (NKJ) is made up by the agricultural research councils in the five Nordic countries. The task of NKJ is to act in an advisory capacity for the Nordic Council of Ministers (NMR) and to recommend finance for research of joint Nordic interest. NKJ has no funds of its own, but can recommend that the research councils, or NMR, provide grants for research programmes.
A grant for a research project of joint Nordic interest can be given when at least three (in exceptional cases, two) Nordic countries participate in the project. After a grant is allocated on the recommendation of NKJ, funds for the project are made available by the research councils in the countries concerned.
NKJ can recommend a grant for
- research projects
- preliminary studies for a major project
- networking activities (meetings of researchers, symposia, conferences, etc)
Applications for research projects shall be submitted to the secretariat of NKJ no later than 1 June, and for networking activities no later than 15 August.
