Decisions

Decisions are taken by Formas' Scientific Council after the standing evaluation panels' proposals has been reported. Decisions on grants for research and information projects are not subject to appeal (this is not valid for positions for assistant professor which are subject to appeal).

Decisions on grants awarded in Formas calls for applications are published on the Formas website. All applicants receive a written notice of the decision, along with the panel statement. The panel statement is the overall assessment of the application.

The processing/status of applications are also shown on the Formas website. Applicants can log in, in the same way as when preparing their applications, and view previous applications and their current status.

Decisions on grant applications which can be applied for consecutively are notified in writing.

Applications granted funding

Applicants granted funds must return the decision notice, signed by the head of department or corresponding person and the applicant, within three months of  receiving notification of the decision.

When grants for workshops/symposia/conferences are granted by Formas it is presumed that a Formas representative may attend the meeting. Furthermore, Formas presumes that organisers of meetings supported by Formas will inform Formas of the meeting in a suitable manner. The invitation and documentation for the meeting must state that the meeting has received support from Formas.
