How can the city be adapted to a changed climate? This is what a new research project in Göteborg will investigate. In the project where researchers from different disciplines work together with practitioners, solutions are to be found for Göteborg, but the intention is that it will be possible for these methods to be used also by other cities in the risk zone. 2nd call for applications in CORE Organic II »
2011-10-10: The European network CORE Organic II hereby announces its second call for applications for research funds for transnational research projects within organic production and consumption. Plant breeding and Market are two of the themes in this call. Formas is contributing with MSEK 6 for Swedish researchers over the period 2013-15.
The application process takes place in two steps. In the first step, a selection is made among the consortia that have submitted pre-proposals. Those selected are then invited to submit full proposals. Pre-proposals are to be submitted by 16 January 2012 CET.

Preservation of the existing nature as green spaces has a long history in the Nordic countries, but it is necessary to have knowledge of how the vegetation stands up to the transition it is subjected to. In Finland and Canada, studies have been made of the effects in vegetation due to trampling and the establishment of new forest edges. The same was done for Stockholm in this study.
